Art Style: ORBIENT (see GAMESPOT Review) is a WiiWare game (means you download it and it usually has a lower cost – in this case only $6) that’s short, but for the money, it’s sure to be a hit with puzzle gamers. In this unique puzzle game, you use gravity to control stars through 50 different stages of the game. It doesn’t sound like a lot of fun maybe, but if you like puzzles, it’s sure to give you a little enjoyment. And at $6 for the download, you’re not out a lot of money, even if you decide you don’t like the game or can only play it a few times.
This interstellar game allows you to watch stars collide, have stars start to orbit around you. There are big, bad things in the universe, though. You have to avoid things like black holes to make it to the harder levels.
The game is really easy to “pick-up” without reading a novel length rule book or instruction manual. That said, it might get a bit repititious after a while.
In the game, you don’t control your planet directly. Instead, you use the gravitational push or pull from nearby suns to guide your celestial orb into the right position. This is where the strategy and fun come in. As the game progresses, you’re able to envelop larger and larger entities – through 50 levels.
Art Style: ORBIENT isn’t for everyone, but if you’re a puzzle lover, you’ll want to check it out for the Nintendo Wii.
