You play as Roxas, who is Sora’s “Nobody” – a mirror copy somehow robbed of all memories. While striving to rediscover them, Roxas defeats Heartless, travels to various Disney locales, and unravels the secrets behind the black-cloaked Organization XIII. With the new addition of a variety of tasks and missions to choose from, this new game offers more chances than ever before to personalize your Kingdom Hearts experience. The choice keeps the game from becoming stale or redundant.

What’s more, Roxas offers the chance to customize his character through a panel of attributes, really letting you tailor the game to your personal preferences – if you’re a button masher, you can concentrate on physical attributes, but if you love the magic, then load up there. It’s a nice bonus in a previously predetermined area of the game.

The graphics are beautiful, only rarely becoming a bit boxy as DS games are often likely to do. Gameplay is fairly seamless, though occasionally the magic features can be a bit sluggish and on a very rare occasion, battle can slowdown a bit. The soundtrack is mostly copied from other Kingdom Hearts installments, which is no horrible thing as the music for the franchise has always been remarkable.

This is a game that feels so much bigger than it is, as consequently, it’s easy to forget that you’re playing on a handheld device. In my opinion, there’s no better praise for a handheld game.

Join Professor Layton and his apprentice Luke as they try to unravel the mystery of the deadly Elysian Box, solving a seemingly endless string of over 150 mind bending puzzles along the way. Blending mystery, actions, and those aforementioned puzzles into one seamless and entertaining jaunt, the newest Professor Layton game will have fans clamoring for even more.

Features that delighted so much in the first game are definitely still present in this sequel. The graphics are still charming, the music entertaining, and the cut scenes adorably well done. True puzzle fiends will love the variety present in these brainteasers, with each one being a fresh new challenge. If you get stuck, use the hint coins you find along the way to buy a tip. With several minigames and unlockable bonus features, plus the ability to download a new puzzle each week, this game completely avoids becoming stale or repetitive.

What’s more, new features add even more impressive gameplay. Offering a plethora of areas to explore and new scenery to look at, the world in this game feels much more expansive. The addition of a memo pad helps you keep track of clues and doodle possible solutions for puzzles without wasting paper. With over 20 hours of gameplay just on the main storyline, the question of whether or not to buy this game is no puzzle at all.

The main character in the game is pretty cold. Diabolik  is an anti-hero, a skilled thief and a master of disguise who loves luxury, expensive cars and hi-tech gadgets. He can be merciless and he has no concern for anyone but himself and his one true love, Eva.

Eva, the only woman who can keep up with him, likes being involved in mysterious and complicated stories. Diabolik and Eva make up a great if unconventional couple. They’re both lovers and partners in crime.

“After years of mutually profitable collaboration, we’re excited about this long-term partnership with Black Bean,” said Riccardo Cangini, CEO of Artematica. “Finally an Italian joint-venture showing the skills and the determination required to obtain a relevant position in the international market.”

It looks like this game is going to excite a lot of people. If you like comic books or just video games that are a little different (in a good way) this may be right up your alley. It looks like it’s going to be well suited to the Wii and Playstation controllers … as you know, sometimes games don’t make the translation from PC very well.

If you’re a fan of either of these games (or you know someone in your household who is a fan), there’s good news for you later this year. There’s already mention of a MySims Agents coming in Fall 2009. That’s not too far away. Until then, you’ll have to be satisfied with these two – which aren’t bad at all.

Whether you’re a serious gamer or a very young gamer, there’s going to be something about the MySims that you really enjoy. Fun for family members of all ages is rare these days, so when games like this come out, it’s really good to support them by purchasing them. This lets the game companies know what types of games they should produce in the future.

These ‘pseudo retro’ games are what really makes this title unique and different than other 8bit collections out there. A lot of attention was paid to very little details. You don’t have to have seen the Japanese tv show or even played a lot of old retro games to get something out of Retro Game Challenge, though.

In the ‘challenges’ you face in the past, you don’t have to just beat the retro games. There are certain assignments or tasks you have to complete – like getting a high score, or playing one of the games with a handicap (not using a particular item or ability, etc.) It’s this that makes the game a little unique too, as it’s not just a collection of old games you can play, but there’s a story wrapped around them as well.

One thing that Moon does well with is weapons – there are a lot of different weapon options available.

You play the game as Major Kane, who is called in to investigate (and get to the bottom of) a very strange hatch (Lost, anyone?) that has been found on the Moon. As you can imagine, when the hatch is opened, there’s not too much good going on deep in the Moon.

The controls are very intuitive, with the same set-up as most other first person shooters for the Nintendo DS. They’re simple controls, but sometimes that’s a good thing for a game – especially a shoot-em-up FPS like Moon.

If you like action and shooting, running and ducking, you’re going to get some enjoyment out of Moon. The action is constant, with enemies coming at you from everywhere, trying to make sure you don’t make it.

The inside of the hatch is very alien-like (as if we’d know what alien architecture on the moon is supposed to look like!) – but the levels do get a bit tedious and the same after a while.

The soundtrack and music for the game is good, though, letting you get into the mood of the Moon.

Unfortunately, there are NO multiplayer modes. It’s still a fun way to lose yourself for a little while.

The original Elebits came onto the scene right after the Nintendo Wii was introduced. It’s been a while, but the sequel is finally here, although now for the Nintendo DS. The controls, of course, are a little different, but that won’t stop fans of the original Nintendo Wii game.

And there’s a time machine in the game! What game that includes a time machine could be bad?

Along with the artwork and visual design of the game, the characterization isn’t really there. Sure, your character is named Kai, but there’s not much more to it than that.

Elebits are used for energy in the game, and you have to chase them down and round them up to be able to get power to do other things. Elebits in the game have different abilities that you can use to get from level to level.

The game does have its share of flaws and things that would make it better, but it’s still a great little game for puzzle lovers of all ages.

All that said, Robocalypse is a pretty interesting RTS game. It combines traditional RTS fun with a dash of humor – from the team who brought the world Spongebob Squarepants. Yeah, it’s gonna be kinda funny.

The sounds and music in the game are said to be a little annoying and repititious, though. If you can get beyond that, or play without the sound on, Robocalypse is good for hours and hours of single player gameplay.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention (small smile) the game offers free WiFi play – which in non-geek speak means you can play deathmatches and other modes with your friends or other people around the world.

Oh, and toasters. Yup. The game has toasters. And lots of robot mayhem.

Unlike a lot of RTS games, you don’t have a lot of choices when building structures (or even where to place them), but you do have a lot of choices as to the types of units you want to build.

The DS touch screen is used for all controls in the game, which is kinda different but well suited to an RTS game. (How long before there are touch screen controllers for the other platforms and a lot of games that use them? Hmmm…)

More on the multiplayer – there are two modes, one where you try to amass more resources than your opponent and another (deathmatch) where you try to destroy the other player’s HQ. The two multiplayer modes allow up to four players to go at it with tiny robot armies. Nice.
