Gears of War 2

The Gears of War 2 had continued its assault in the gaming industry as the second sequel repeats their success formula. But this time introducing an even better feature packed action war scene by adding new sets of enemies, weapons, and environment that has never been before seen. Much more, the game offers one of the best multiplayer functionality offering upgrades that allows support for up to ten (10) players, ten (10) new maps, and four new modes making it truly indeed part of every action’s turf collection.

Now what exactly is this game all about? The game is all about Locust who are taking over control of the city and lest that the last city named Jacinto might also fall, everything is in the hands of Dominic Santiago and Marcus Fenix to fight for survival. So survival is really the name of the game!

Gameplay – 10.0

Gears of War two is fundamentally similar with the original release however notable improvements could easily be spotted. Among of these improvements are the cover system designed that you stick more precisely to surfaces than before. The weapons also seemed to be added more firepower for a balanced attack of the game. The revival system now allows your teammates to heal you and tap them to crawl faster nearly to avoid fatality. With these, it allows users to adjust certain degrees of difficulty.

Concept and Graphics – 9.0

The sequel manages to take violence further to the next level as the previous coupled with powerful graphical capability. The environment had been much improved as it takes you to underground and outdoor areas. The lighting effects are superb and the general graphics is not bare, enough to get attracted with human eyes. The fluorescent lights and snow-covered mountains had truly put wonders to graphics.

Multiplayer – 9.50

Abiding to its commitment, truly indeed the game is best suited when being played with a group of friends. It offers independent difficulty level to two (2) different players playing. The three new multiplayer modes are called Submission (carrier of the civilian and gun), Guardian (team based game with a leader) and Wingman (splitting team into two working to kill enemies).

The most addictive part of the multiplayer mode is the Horde. In this mode a group of five are allowed to take a bunch of locusts wave by wave and as long as only one dies you are privilege to respawn going into the next round. This part is the most exciting!

Overall Rating – 9.5

A game that is highly favorable when being played with friends, Gears of War 2 is one accommodating game for the newbies. Much more, the game works well without any Internet connection. The artistic and technical details of the game has maintained a high quality and that includes sound effects such as boisterous but not irritating weapon effects among others.

In general, the GOW2 has a lot of common with the previous but the new environments and added modes had expanded the dimensions of the game, which certainly more prospect fans are going to love it most especially Xbox 360 gamers.
