Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolutions, for Nintendo DS, XBox 360 and Playstation 3 (Sorry Wii owners). Sid Meier’s Civilization is a classic computer game now available on several console systems. Fans of the Civilization series will know that the game is a turn based strategy game that combines nation building, resource management and battles between nations.
This console version of the game has a streamlined play that will help newcomers to the game series but not bore hardcore Civilization fans too much.
Players can choose between sixteen different civilizations to manage and bring to world domination. Speaking of taking over the world, there are different games that can be played depending on what you set the victory conditions to be. For some it might be financial while for others nothing short of the total annihilation of all other nations on the earth will do.
Another cool feature about Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolutions is the multiplayer modes. You can even set a timer so that your opponent doesn’t take three hours to make his moves each turn.
Civilization is extra fun with other players, but the single player game can lead to hours of enjoyment as well as you pit your nation building skills against the computer AI.
While this game is sure to be a hit with war and strategy gamers, by moving the computer classic to the console, the creators are opening up Civilization to a whole new generation and type of gamers.
Has anyone out there played the game yet? If so, we’d love to hear from you about the game – what you thought. Be sure to let us know if you’re a hardcore Civ fan from the old days.
Til next time, keep gaming.
