That’s pretty sweet.

Rock Band Unplugged features over 40 master-recordings that include nine exclusive songs for the PSP system (this is only for a limited time…) Rock Band Unplugged will also include the first fully-featured in-game store for downloadable content on the PSP system in the North American and European markets, leveraging the PSP system’s wireless capabilities.

The in-game store is powered by PlayStation®Network, and players can use their existing PlayStation Network account to purchase tracks, similar to the Rock Band console experience. PSP system owners will also have the option of purchasing tracks via PlayStation®Store on the PC.

The following tracks will launch exclusively through Rock Band Unplugged on the PSP system for a limited time before becoming downloadable content for the other platforms:

3 Doors Down – “Kryptonite”

AFI – “Miss Murder”

Alice in Chains – “Would?”

Audioslave – “Gasoline”

Black Tide – “Show Me the Way”

Blink 182 – “What’s My Age Again”

Freezepop – “Less Talk More Rokk”

Jackson 5 – “ABC”

Tenacious D – “Rock Your Socks”

You’re not going to need a PSP to get songs for Rock Band on the Playstation, but it’s going to make it easy and simple, and that’s a good thing any way you look at it.

With all of this, the one thing you’d expect to see (but DON’T) is multi-player capabilities. There’s enough to make this title worth it if you have a PSP, but if it added mult-player, it might have people buying PSP units just for this game.

If you have Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP, let us know by leaving a comment below.

Until next time, keep belting out the tunes…

Star Ocean: Second Evolution for the Playstation Portable (see GAMESPOT Review or IGN Review) is also known in some circles as Star Ocean 2 (the original Star Ocean was for the Playstation console.) Star Ocean is a decent little fantasy adventure roleplaying game that fits well on the Playstation Portable. Don’t think it’s just a port to the PSP, though. Oh no, this game stands on its own as well. If you’re an Anime fan, you’re gonna like this game most likely. There are beautiful animated cut scenes that really do a lot to help you get into the story of Star Ocean.

In the game, you take on the character of Claude or Rena. The two characters are connected in the game, but I’ll leave that for you to find out more about. Smile.

A lot of the problems in the original Star Ocean have been taken care of – including having to journey back over vast distances in the wilderness/world to get somewhere you’ve been already, running into easily beatable foes again and again. A lot of people are going to be happy that this was changed.

Battles in the game occur in real time. You control the main character while the game’s AI controls other members in your adventuring party. The AI doesn’t do too bad of a job. If you want to take over another character in middle of a battle though (if you don’t think the AI is doing what you would be doing), it’s not a problem.

Overall, this is a pretty good adventure RPG for the Playstation Portable (PSP.) It might not be for all gamers, but if you like RPGs, there’s a good chance you’re going to like this one.

If you’ve played any of the Star Ocean series, we’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment below letting us know what you think.

Until next time … remember to evolve a little each and every day.
